VHS to DVD
Let's say you record home movies with your friends many years ago and one of those friends, to this day, still has the only copies on a VHS... You constantly have asked them to make you a copy for many years and still nothing happened. Then you give that friend some money this year, 2005, so that he can ask one of his friends with the means, to convert the VHS into DVD format. Also, let's say the dollar amount given was $75, to cover for a couple of copies to be converted to DVD, shipping, handling, and also a little cash for the friend's friend to have as a nice gesture for making the copies. Let's also say that it has been at least 3 months, maybe almost 4 months, since the check has been given. Nothing has happened yet. You keep bothering your friend and still nothing happens.
What would you do ? What are you thinking ?
Can anyone tell me how long the conversion process takes and what else is necessary to make the copy ? What exactly does it take to convert a VHS to DVD ? I would do it myself if I had the VHS tapes.

WOW - thanks Josué. Unfortunately my friend has the VHS tapes and I would need to buy a DVD burner.
That's true.....the next option would be to upgrade your friend. ;\
He does not sound like much of a Friend. Kick him in the Grill. Sending People money with the hopes of a service while not in the vicinity is asking for trouble. You got taken for the proverbial "Ride". Congrats. One life lesson down, thousands more to go. Rememberr, a fool learns from his owns mistakes, a wise man learns from others.
